Red Wiggler Vermicompost

Vermicast

Worm castings are great for houseplants, gardens, lawns, and seedstarting. Castings are high in organic matter and offer a microbial diversity that has been shown to boost growth, increase crop yields, and help plants protect themselves against stressors.

These castings are harvested from red wiggler worms raised in our greenhouse and fed a diet of food waste diverted from landfills.

To use: add to potting mix, top dress on plants in the garden or home, or soak in water to create a compost tea.

Red Wiggler Comosting Worms

We have limited quantities of composting worms available for sale

The great thing about worms is that they reproduce quickly, so it isn't necessary to purchase a large amount to get started (unless you need to compost a large volume of material right away). We also will always offer a handful of worms for free to help get you started - just ask! Must be able to pick up in Claremont, NH or coordinate a meet up at one of our events or markets in the area.

Red Wiggler (Eisenia fetida) are expert composters. They eat voraciously and spend most of their time in the top few inches of substrate. Ideal temperatures are between 55-75 degrees.

It is recommended to buy 1 pound of worms per square foot of composting area. However you can always buy fewer if you are ok feeding less while you wait for them to reproduce - in ideal conditions, worms can double their population in 60 days.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions you might have as you get started on your worm journey!
