In our main garden, which is about 1 quarter acre in size, we raise a wide variety of vegetables and berries.
The garden consists of 21 raised beds, along with a row of raspberries and several blueberry bushes. We do not use any chemical fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides.
The garden includes perennials, such as asparagus and herbs as well as annuals that we plant each year. And we mix in a lot of flowers, both for aesthetic reasons and because some flowers act as deterrents to pests.
During the season, the garden provides virtually all the produce we use. We also preserve and freeze some items, such as raspberries, strawberries, corn, broccoli, and peppers, as well as tomato sauce and salsa.
We welcome visitors to help with planting, maintaining and harvesting chores in the garden throughout the season.
